Short Version: It’s very hard to feel romantically and sexually attracted to your partner. If you’re the one doing the parenting, it may feel like you’re doing the mental labor for 2 people. If you’re the one being treated like a child, the uneven power dynamic and infantization may make it hard to feel attracted to your partner. On top of it all, it inherently shifts each partner’s identity in the context of the relationship. You may feel like you are doing your partner a favor, but it may actually be creating resentment. Generally people are not attracted to those who is in a significantly different stage of life.
