Why Emotional Intelligence Matters, with a side of nervous system regulation

  • by

In your life, I’m sure there are goals to be achieve, benchmarks to reach, checkboxes to tick off, etc.

If every time you check off a box, and nothing changes in your nervous system regulation – you are in a vicious endless cycle.

Examples: Being broke sucks. There’s plenty of worry and anxiety about how rent will get paid, how to put food on the table, and how to pay bills.

Getting your first $1000 in the bank is a big deal and something to be proud of! Your bills are getting paid, and you have a little for fun. Hooray for a bit of financial security.

If you have the same worry and anxiety once you get the $1000, then, yes you can pay for stuff, but did you internally grow?

Let’s crank it up to $100,000 of net worth, and maybe you’re contemplating buying a house or have bought a place already.

Do you still have the same anxieties and worries about money?

If anything, you’ve demonstrated that more and more financial wealth did not correlate to internal growth or a reduction of anxiety and worry.

This is why doing the emotional intelligence work is important!

It’s not possible to use external solutions to solve what ultimately is an internal recalibration. This will involve feeling lots of feelings, as well as diving into uncertainty, because this involves your unique story. I can’t provide the roadmap to a one of a kind story, but I can provide support tools for you to use along the way.

As I’m learning about marketing, I am transforming my view of “sales pitches feel scammy” to “I believe I have something to offer that really will improve your life if you’ll meet me”. So I invite you to chat to learn more.
